Biography

Thabet Kacem is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at the University of the District of Columbia. He obtained his PhD in Information Technology at George Mason University in May 2016. His PhD thesis entitled “Secure Automatic Dependent Surveillance Broadcast (ADS-B)” provided an innovative cyber-security layer to the ADS-B protocol which is widely used by aircraft and air traffic control worldwide. He previously obtained his Master of Science degree in Computer Science at the University of the District of Columbia in 2010.

His research interests include cyber-security, smart transportation systems, cyber-physical systems, software-defined radios/radars, security protocols, security requirements modelling and semantic technologies.
